WIP: DYNAMIC DUO OF THE OZARKS

A work-in-progress by Jeff Boggs

I mention the John Birch Society in The Dynamic Duo of The Ozarks. Some have questioned me on whether such a group existed. Here is an article from N-P-R about the group. https://www.npr.org/2024/11/03/nx-s1-5176529/john-birch-society-movement-conspiracy-politics?utm_medium=social&utm_term=nprnews&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=npr&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR2cbVrfPHyUcW85z57kB7NCdLNJuCU2279cCYk0BB5hLC5rYDyyfdQ9V_M_aem_YqMABzpkbGTcn23wb1UKXg

From the moment I began telling friends and co-workers that I was writing this novel, I have been met with resistance. People have told me this isn’t a subject that most Ozarkers would be interested in. They do not understand that if you write a book, it will probably be read by people all over …

Color on television was a big deal in the mid 60s. Television news was the last programs to switch to color. The CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite went to color in February of 1966. The Huntley & Brinkley Report on NBC & the ABC World News would not go to color broadcast until later …

I have saved articles & photos from the Springfield Daily News at the Springfield Greene County Library Center to …
